Gave it a shot this afternoon, just a couple small bluefish. Saw 1 jump of something with a forked tail but it was a ways out and couldn't get a positive ID on it. It was a funny fish but who knows

This South West wind is relentless on the exposed South Cape. Maybe a Sunday window to get out. It may have to be a Bass weekend for me.

I’ve been out briefly the last two days-that wind is tough. Yesterday caught some blues then found the albies, one broken off was all she wrote. Today we tuned around a half mile outside the harbor entrance. Tomorrow is shore fishing only I think unless the weather forecast lightens up.

I get all nervous getting that first out of the way. More often then not I lose it.

A few years back I dropped the first 3 or 4 I hooked. They were on the fly rod and I had to work for them, just to make things even more aggravating.

Yeah I still get the jitters on the first everything of the year-It means I still get excited about fishing. I usually whiff the first trout hot of spring too. In this case is was a matter of not cutting and replacing the leader, because I was nervous about not being able to find them again after releasing the blue.

That spot to the west mentioned earlier was dead yesterday mid day. One pod blew up, not sure if it was funny or blue but it wasn't macks.

Word was a few around in AM.

The lack of bait was more than made up for by the generous quantity of eel grass. Just acres of grass rafts on the water with more coming out with the tide.

Unlimited Albies yesterday. You missed one or broke off? No big deal. Tie another Silver Epoxy on and have some fun. Nice to go on weekdays. Be careful of yakkers out there boaters and yakkers wave your hand or put flag up in the air. Nice by-catch yesterday of Spanish and Kings. The Spanish were bigger than the kings!

If you think what I posted is a spot burn? You can kiss my irish mexican ass. It's a fishing website with people out there to have fun.  Give the fish with Stripes a chance and chase some Albacore and have some fun.

Kayakers , please use a flag. Not all that I see in busy areas Albie fishing have a flag up. And not all boat fisherman may have the situational awareness you would like to see from your vantage point low to the water.

Observed some “ colorful “ verbal exchanges yesterday … keep it chill on the water

Be safe, have fun

I don’t want to sound like a Dick, but how are boaters seeing/avoiding buoys, but they can’t spot a kayak with a dude sitting in it.

I’ve run plenty of boats and also fish out of a kayak… the only time a boat has been too close is when the dipshit wasn’t paying attention- a flag won’t help that.
