The TideRunner
Replacing the Line Roller bearing on an plder but gently used Stradic 4000FI. First time I've had to do this so my question is, which is better, ceramic bearing or stainless steel? Price is about the same so that's not an issue. ExcessiveAngler
I can tell you this if you with ceramics, they will be noisier! They’re actually making 100% ceramics for line rollers now, saw a thread on another site! Said they worked awesome in a gosa, but were noisier than hell! Not sure how they would work with some lube in them, because most true ceramics are meant to be run dry! I’m also curious to see what others say as well! The TideRunner
Actually I think its a moot point. As I searched a little more I didn't find any ceramic bearings, or hybrids for that reel. I already knew about the noisy part. I already ordered the stainless. I'm reconditioning this reel to sell it. I already have too many reels. As if there is such a thing. But I wont sell a reel if everything isn't working properly. Everything else is in great condition.except the line roller.
