Saco River Restrictions

Looks like the Mill area is closing up to fishing, could be a good thing for the fish considering the amount of poaching, extremely poor fish handling, littering, and just overall disrespect that goes on there. Many people don’t believe “spot burning” is a problem but it’s things like this that ruin fishing areas and access…..

i believe the same will happen at a local dam near me , some people people don't care, tossing live Herring in front of a fish ladder not obeying the 150 feet law isn't catching its poaching ! but it keeps these googans away from where i fish . i believe Herring are federally protected and  don't want to faces those charges. the fine could pay for some nice gear !

In general I hate to see fisherman lose access but in this case I think it’s a good decision.

The rule takes effect 6/10.

Yes, the way people have acted around there is sad for sure

DAMS ARE TERRIBLE FOR FISH!

People push the green energy. The Canadians own most of our dams. No offense but I think it’s rubbish. Just like Arizona sold water access land to grow alfalfa to the Saudi’s. At the very least we should “own” rivers and use them for our own beneficial purpose. Imagine having to beg a foreign entity for the right to our own water. People get it twisted all the time. They fought alewife restoration because they thought it would hurt trophy smallmouth fishing downeast (laughable). The fact that none of us can catch and release a healthy Atlantic salmon today is a travesty.

It is a dual edge sword... the stripers are decimating the Salmon rivers in the Atlantic Provinces..  but Brookfield are awful owners and at the end of the day only care about the $ in their pockets..

My dad used to tell me fabled stories about the runs in the Narraguagus..

Would love to have seen that

RIP Innis - April 9th 2012 - you always be in my heart. :)

Damn shame we’ll never get to fish Atlantic salmon in our lifetime
