June 7th, outgoing to low evening report

the “It finally stopped raining and or no wind blitz of spring 2023”

Yarmouth Area,  10’s of acres of bass feeding on small bait draining mud flats.  About Two hours of nutz fishing till dark

more terns than I’ve seen in a long time

very sketchy in a bigger boat staying close to skinny water constantly moving out the outer sketchy channel but we scored 43 fish between 2 anglers in 90

minutes

topwater mixed big wood (had to cast out onto 1’ of water 75 yards) poppers

and smaller poppers in close as the melee moved onto deeper water

probably could have casted anything that made a splash.  Aggressive angry fish

insane action.   Most fish 24-28, 4 over slot and a good number in slot

all released

feel good moment of the year.

it’s heating up people

tight lines

Nice report I wish I had such issues dead as a door nail by me.

This coastal low must have slowed things down a bit.

Went out last night to a front beach.  Rainy, but wow...The surf was beautiful.  1 foot swells and you could see the carribean blue ocean.  Gorgeous.  Not a bite to be had, we were using bait.  Looks like I should have thrown some tin...

When exactly did this coastal low occur?

.Synopsis for Stonington ME to Merrimack River Ma out to 25 NM. Generally light and variable winds can be expected tonight into Saturday as weak low pressure meanders over New England. Brief high pressure builds in Sunday followed by an approaching cold front during the first half of the upcoming workweek. Winds will increase out of the south in response to the approaching cold front as well as seas that could bring SCA conditions by Tuesday.

Sunday into Tuesday brings some hope.

I am in New York Raritan Bay would that affect this area? That is some distance from here.

SYNOPSIS FOR THE COASTAL WATERS FROM SANDY HOOK NJ TO FENWICK ISLAND DE AND FOR DELAWARE BAY... At least some hazy skies and perhaps some smoke will linger into the weekend as an area of low pressure will continue to drift around New England. A couple of troughs rotating around that low will result in some scattered showers and thunderstorms on Friday. High pressure will bring dry and warmer weather for the weekend, followed by low pressure approaching from the west later Monday or Monday night.

Very similar, I’d be looking at Tuesday with the wind and waves.

I'm Staying in Portland this week, how has Cape Elizabeth been looking?

had a few chances to fish the area the last few days pretty slow and spotty action but that should only improve over the week. Conditions this morning were easy to fish low swell not much weeds besides a pocket here and there. Stripers and pollock in close taking flies didn't see pogies or mackerel but the boats have been getting mackerel for a while.

Fished in my area this weekend.  Lots of terns diving got me really excited but couldn't catch a striper which was pretty frustrating.  Seemed like a lot of bait and only a few stripers.  I believe they were on juv herring which I could see in the seaweed.  Also managed to snag a few pogies by accident.  Anyways, no fish for me but good to see some life out there.
