The weirdest thing I ever saw was lizards on Long Island. I grew up there. Never saw a one. Then I bought a house  in Bellport a  number of years ago. I saw something out of the corner of my eye. Eventually I got a close enough to see one. Apparently sometime in the early 80's a load of Italian wall lizards destined for a pet store fell off  the back of a truck near the LIRR. Now they're everywhere within a 1/4 mile of the track, from Queens to Riverhead.

I believe garden city was ground zero for those things. I went with a high school zoology teacher to a spot in valley stream, so she could catch them for her class. There's a breeding colony at queens college and I think they've made their way up to the bronx. They're spread out all over the place..

Saw this agama in my gym parking lot this afternoon, scooting around eating ants.Ive seen not once before. These guys are invasive, Vero Beach seems to be the center, but they're working their way around. The Males are colorful. Seen quite a few by the indoor range, social security office and Home Depot

Very cool, that a agama is wild looking and looks very sturdy.

The village, which had stood for maybe 1,000 years, didn't know we were coming that day. If they had, they would have run. boB was at the eye of our rage. And through him, our Captain Ahab. He would set things right again. That day, we loved him.

First one I saw was in Home Depot lot. Tried to get close for pic Amit ran up a tree. Closer I got the higher he went

Had one in my driveway. Tried to get photo and he kept running under my truck. Played cat and mouse and she just disappeared. The males are pretty wild looking
