Superstrike little neck popper hook removal/replacement advise

I know I asked this question before, but for one reason or another I didn’t fish the popper enough to have the information register in my head. This time though, I’m determined to work on my top water game. It’s pretty much nonexistent or pathetic at best. So what I want to know is…

1. I hate treble hooks. If I’m removing one which one should I remove? Belly or tail?

2. What size replacement hooks should I use for 4.25, 5.24 or 6.0 inch poppers.

3. and where can I get em? Dressed or undressed?

thanks

I like the following setup on the mid sized SS LNP .

Cut 3/0 VMC on the belly (crushed barbs if you like)

Split ring and dressed inline single between 5/0-6/0 depending on brand for the rear.

Just make sure the tail hook and the belly hook cannot intertwine and catch themselves.

If you are bass fishing leave the belly treble on, if you are bluefishing you can take the belly treble off.

Thanks Rich, So for bass fishing leave the belly and removed the tail. Got it.

I really don’t like trebles though. It results in fish casualty and potential operator hook ups while unhooking, more than I like.

Just an FYI, SuperStrike's website used to have the size of the hooks they put on their lures. Use this for single hook reference. The front trebles were usually 2/0 or 3/0. The back single hook siwash was 5/0 or 6/0.

The 5.25 Little Neck Popper is easily my favorite plug.

2/0 belly treble with a 6/0 lightly-dressed siwash on the rear for me.

I got my supply of tail hooks in the Commercial B/S/T here from NJTramcar.

Remove them and replace them with inline single hooks.

All my little neck are with inline hooks 4/0 on the belly and same one on the tail.

Used to have single  buctail hook on the back but recently I replace all bucktail hooks with single inline.

Amazon had Mustud inline on sale  for $2.29, limit 4 bags per account.

I called all my friends to order them for me.

A little off topic but worth consideration. Remove both hooks, dress the plug with an eelskin and rig with a single 3/0 treble from the belly swivel. Crawl (don't pop) it over shallow submerged structure after dark...
