Was going over some NJ -NY -CT Fishing FB pages to see how the Fishing is still happening. :banghd:

I have never seen the disrespect and wasteful way a popular resource is Handled and this by Chater Boats. :beatin:and they are Proud to post these phots for $$$$ for attracting & gaining Fairs. IMO by the time these fish reach home they will only be fit for the Tomato Garden.  :rav:

If this is how they handle the Stripers what about those that might have been released :headscratch:

In some states wasting a Natural Recourse is a Crime :lost:

Did they break any laws? I haven’t kept a fish in over ten years, so I’m guessing we are in the same choir.

Customers didn't bring a cooler?

A bin is pretty normal practice in that situation.

The pictures appear to show presumably legal and dead fish in various containers.  Without knowing a variety of factors it’s impossible to say whether or not the fish are spoiling or ready to be processing into many fine meals for the fishermen and families.

Looks on the up and up to me. I’d want to preserve my fish better, but that’s me! I am more enraged by poachers

Yeah, all I’m saying is the fish could have been placed there in that condition for only a few minutes and then filleted, without knowing more it’s hard to say what’s going on.  I’m sure there’s some waste by some boats, along with bad fish handling, but these photos by themselves don’t indicate either to me.

I'm not really understanding these pics without any context.

Was it mentioned or implied that the fish were just dumped in those tubs to lay in the sun and then be thrown out? If not, maybe they removed them from a fish box for the pics.

They look pretty fresh to me....

Eyes are clear. The blues though look a little dried out, and that is a species that has been rare for the last decade. And one in which it is perfectly legal to catch and keep babies and use them as bait. Would love to see that fishery shut down to 1 fish.

One could do a much better job of caring for the catch. There is this cultural thing where we believe that over cooking fish is what we have to do to cover up the fishy taste. When in reality if one had cared for the fish properly, one would not even need to cook it. Texture of the fish is as important to me as the taste, and I would eat a Wawa’s hoagie before eating any of those fish as sashimi

Without being there in person tough to say IMHO. What is bugging you the fish are not on ice and no running water running in the bins?

I'll tell you this, no eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.
