If you don’t make a substantial portion of your income from striper fishing or fishing in general, you shouldn’t be allowed help deplete the resource. If you are a true comms guy, it should be easy enough to prove. Leave the quota for those who can show that they are true commercial fisherman. I am rebuking the fact that the New Slot limit for bass has nothing to do with commercial fishing. Why are you so mad? Panzon Posted May 11 Report Share Posted May 11 Does anyone remember how it was before they dropped the limit to 28”? The population was coming back and then we started killing the breeders. Add in increased interest via the internet, poor management and a growing seal population and the fishery is dying again. I would love to see a 5 year ban on killing any stripers, stricter regulations on killing fish for commercial and rec after the 5 years, have local and feds work together to protect the bait sources and see what happens.
