New slot limits for Bass

This is a major red flag if you're a bass fisherman. Dropping the rec size from 28-<35" to 28-31" is a very narrow window.  Clearly indicating the fishery is in rough shape.

Interesting footnote, all the reg signs now have to be replaced, if the ones along the canal aren't already stolen.

Here's a link to a great discussion about it with someone that is involved and was there:

Show someone how to catch striped bass and they'll be ready to fish anywhere.
Show someone where to go striped bass fishing and you'll have a desperate report chaser with loose lips.

I keep two a year, usually around 30" - 32" so this works for me.

However, good luck enforcing it. You know guys in low traffic areas, on boats, etc, are gonna keep whatever they feel like keeping. How many will honor the slot?

unfortunately everything is legal until they get caught!

once they changed the slot to 28" - 35", i saw plenty of guys walking away from the canal with questionable fish that looked over 35".
