Was out in back in Monmouth county river on Sunday night, outgoing tide.  Full moon.  Stripers were busting on the surface on something small throughout and weren't much interested in our offerings.   Any thoughts on what they might have been on?   We did manage 3 fish each, but it was a bit frustrating.

Full moon worm hatch most likely.

I was also in a back Bay Area. Same thing, fish busting all night with very little interest. Only got one to commit. There were many short strikes with no hookups.

Back out this morning in the local waters and found some success.  Surf is flattening and the water was clean and clear.  Even saw a few bunker moving around.  Tried plugs most of the morning with no success.  Moved to the bugs and picked up two.  One at 28 inches that looked like it was in a battle, and a clean second one at 34 inches.  Hopefully with some bunker around it will entice a few more fish to move in.

Another beach outing yesterday.  Fished the outgoing, low wind, clean water, warm sunshine.  Poppers, minnows, bucktails, clams, sand fleas.  One bite on a clam, no hookup.  Moved outback to a very crowded spot at low tide.  Managed a blue and two short fluke.  Hooked a nicer fluke, 20+, lost it at the bank.

Fished from my boat out front this morning. (I know, they don't count). Saw the largest school of bottle nose out there. Headed north and jumping and splashing as far out as I could see. Pretty cool. OC.

Found the same in two Monmouth County rivers in the last week. They were feeding on grass shrimp in both.
