woowoo2
Our last dog had to have Grain free, but the vet is recommending against it for this one. So I am moving away from Nutro, and looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced alternative? (Kibble, not wet food)
2sammich
I feed my dog purina one. Vet says it's good kibble. That's all he gets, plus doggie treats. woowoo2, Lucky and Fergal

EBHarvey
Farmina *edit* sorry, I didn't see the reasonably-priced requirement. the above is not reasonably-priced, not even close, but it is exceptionally good. I've done stuff I ain't proud of, and the stuff I am proud of is disgusting.

They don't sell it. Never saw a recall for purina one. Vets push stuff they sell. My vet didn't push anything. He asked me what I feed my dog, I told him. He said it's good food. CapeDave
I will second the Purina One never a recall and the puppy food is top notch. Fergal 1 There's no need to blow smoke up my ass as a lengthy preamble to your insulting another person. It doesn't fool anyone and it doesn't garner any favor. Eagles Dare
My dog is allergic to chicken/chicken products so that limits the choices a lot. He's doing well on Natural Balance, but its pricey. I'll have mine on the rocks.

You said vets push Purina products. I've had dogs my whole life and never had a vet push Purina products. My current dog has been to 4 or 5 different vets, none that sell or push Purina products, and all have said that Purina one is good food. Never heard anyone say it's crap. Well, except you. I'll go with what the vets say. Fergal

Dieseldog13
Feed Purina Pro Plan for years until the price was out of control. Called and talked to Purina about Purina One and then made the switch. All is going well with Tater my Black Lab.
