Would you mind showing the rig and perhaps the set up you use for shad. I have tried a few times before but never hooked anything but the bottom. Thanks!

I’ll take a pic later for ya…

basically main line-bullet worm weight-barrel swivel-2ft 6lb floro-duolock-spoon. 
Adjust weight to just get a tick or two on bottom per drift.

I scouted the Merrimack on Friday. Not looking for shad specifically, just poking around. 

The river was over the banks and into the woods above the Lawrence dam. I didn't look below the dam but assume it is high there as well.

Late last week there was whitewater where it first crosses 495. Still high enough that the water's edge is about three trees back into the woods.
