A lot of guys loose sight that fishing is a pass time.
There is a select few that make a living at it but for the rest of us it’s a hobby.

Family’s and lives can be destroyed by a passion that simply blinds them.

Bye definition a pass time is wasting time.

Do I feel I wasted time not fishing at my age? No.

Done plenty and still do, can’t figure out why it never gets old to me.

I fished and hunted while friends worked and saved for the retirement that never came. I'm not broke  but no big 401 or pension plan  but I'm still kickin at 64 and fishing every chance I get. I'm in Islamorada now for my annual spring tarpon/permit trip with my best friend and fishing partner, my wife Kimmey. Time flys  never forget that. Waiting for retirement to truly live is a gamble I wasn't taking. Be home soon for stripers   O , I never ever wasted 1 second doing what I love, not 1 second. And I'd do it all again the same way. When you are laying on the deathbed with 3 breaths left what will the memories be ? Counting dollars ?

Always wrung it out for all it was worth utilizing every minute I could-even to the point -many times- of just spinning my wheels.

Still glad I did.

Cartilage  went around 2 nd week of December-in my right shoulder. One day I could still fish-the next day-over.

Could be worse. Maybe I'll be back- not sure yet.

Every day is a gift. Use it if you are able.

I was told many years ago by a very wise person God does no Deduct the time spent fishing from one's lifetime. So, I spent many days doing just that. I am from a family of Fisherman and Hunters and followed along in my 82 years on earth as Fishing started when i could tag along at 5 and hunting at 10. I had many Boats from Kayaks to 30 footers. Life has been good. I too had concerns about retiring but now some 15 years later wonder how I found time to go to work. My savings and 2 pensions allow me more than expected. And now have had to retire for Hunting and most fishing. Been there and done it Fla, to Alaska to many countries in the Navy.  Left out I Now live it all through my two teenage grandsons Avid Skiers Dedicated Surfers Frequent Fisherman. Winter never stops them Last week and 2 weeks ago Belmar Pier in background Not a fisherman insight
