R.R. Bridge Fisher
Not the elite but the surf machine. Last outing I had my top section twist on me. No big deal but I can't ever recall this happening on any other surf rods. My rods are always together from the day I get them. troll #122 <*)))<

VanStaalSteve
Twisting of the ferrules on two-piece rods can be eliminated or kept to a minimum with this simple old fly rodders trick. Just get a candle and rub the wax on the male end of the two-piece rod. I fish Century rods and this hack works out well. It also prevents wear on the ferrule so the rod will last longer, plus allows the rod to be taken apart easier. It pretty much prevents frozen ferrules. I will try this if the rod twists again, thanks So that's weird that it prevents it from twisting yet helps it pull apart... troll #122 <*)))<

Yes, it is weird, but the wax definitely works with a twisting ferrule and in taking rod apart. R.R. Bridge Fisher

bassmaster
15 hours ago, BengaliFisher said: How does this rod compare with ss1265? 1265 is light and a real nice rod, The sme to me feels tip heavy And I use a vs250 and 200 on mine It has way more power than the 1265 and the 1265 has power also There 2 different rods. I put a ultegra on that sme and can launch a pencle out of sight Plug Ho!
