It's out of the water and cowling off but If I had not thought they were the same I wouldn't have posted it lol

What’s the purpose of this post. They both sound fine to me.

I was told the motor in the first video was toast, numerous so called experts on another site said it had bad lower unit, valve knock, jumped timing belt to name just a few comments.

That little tapping noise can be caused by a great many things both large and small. Could be as simple as replacing the plugs or a simple valve adjustment. Since it’s not on fire, chugging, smoking, surging, struggling or stalling, I hardly doubt it’s toast.

"Experts" diagnosed all that from that 13 second video? Wow that's crazy. And without even changing the rpm's or shifting? Who could know "diagnosis" was so easy.

The 2 videos sound very similar so I wouldn't be losing sleep.  My problem is that where you stand on a boat makes a big difference in your perception of engine "sounds".  Often when I move in the boat while it's running, I'll find myself saying, "WTF is THAT???" and run back to the helm for a sound check...

The only time I hear my 115 Yammie idling up close and personal, is when she's up on the trailer with the ear muffs, so I can't chime in regarding an idle sound diagnosis.

bad lower unit,

BTW, with an engine idling, HTF can anyone claim there's a problem with the lower unit???

Bottom line, if I thought my engine wasn't working/sounding right, I sure as hell wouldn't ask for an internet diagnosis...

Cannot hear anything different compared to my F115. However, the sounds from an F115 take some getting used to as it has some personality for sure. If you are concerned, hook it up to YDS and check for codes then look at your stats.

I try to stay intimate with my fuel system and change my filters way more than I need to. I even inspect and clean my injectors every other year and carry an extra set in my e-toolbox.

This is an outstanding engine but sensitive to what fuel is being delivered.
