ProSkateFisherman
I want to finally catch a redfish off the beach. My mindset has been bad and I’ve been too quick to judge a spot (or even the season as a whole) but this year I’m gonna go into it more patient and I’m gonna try some different things. I think a simple mindset change is the key here, along with some fresh bait too. I’d also like to do some more kayak fishing, simply because it’s both fun and good exercise from all the paddling. They were biting before you got here and they’ll bite again after you leave.
Sandbar1
Dedicate more effort to rigging and fishing variations of eelskin plugs, jigs and riggies. Access and target isolated big bass water. I’m working out the right combination of dive booties, carbide spikes and fins to make this happen. Get detailed and consistent with the log, reference it often, watch the barometer Land a bass in the 30# range each month March - December. Sit back, reflect, love the night. LI_Angler
A slot fish or larger (am I getting pushy), which I would release, would be great. Anything, but preferably something aquatic, on the end of my line every time I go out besides the lure I started with. LockedDrag 1 "The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad." -- A.K. I’d be more than happy to show you my favorite spot in the providence area whenever you’re down here. I use to fish providence a lot (I live in Providence lol) but I don’t much anymore unless it’s the spring or the full fall run is on. Very consist topwater year-round. R.R. HYB_Living
Crossed off some wild ones last yr, got into my first several high 30lb class fish maybe even a 40 or 2 (don't own a boga, the mystery keeps me coming back for more). First real albie run which was an awesome experience of a 3 hour long on and off feeding frenzy. I even managed to pull off the unthinkable and catch/release a Cobia from shore. Don't like I'll ever top that last one considering I live in NY. Probably try and take my first off shore tuna trip or try for another rare NE species like sheepshead from shore. The other guys on the boat are asleep in the cabin, and you're alone in the cockpit with a flat of butterfish, tossing it over the side, watching the water and the sky, seeing strange things and hearing very strange noises. I have heard things in the wee hours of the night--don't know whether they were whales moaning, porpoises doing whatever porpoises do, or something else, that makes it easy to understand why early mariners believed in sea monsters. Out on an overnight trip there was a little delay when switching over to the generator. In total darkness the sky was unbelievably beautiful, would love to relive that moment. I just get my high there to start the season then I move out front where I find the grind a little more enjoyable because it’s always a learning experience and variety Edited March 20 by LockedDrag
