Rods got Stolen

Went kayak fishing yesterday in Mississippi (I live in Louisiana) and got home late and tired. Left my rods and kayak in the back of my truck and they were still there this morning. Went to pick up my girlfriend and we spent a few hours watching a movie and watching March madness on TV.

She’s cooking dinner and realizes she forgot a few things, so I run to the grocery store down the street only to realize when I get there my rods were stolen clean out of my truck bed. I live in a gated apartment community so I think someone here had to do it.

The rods/reels weren’t terribly expensive but really damn angry nonetheless. Angry that people would have the nerve to steal my stuff right outside my door when I’m just trying to hang out and have a relaxing night.

Thought I would share to remind everyone to ALWAYS unload your truck, or at least, have a bed cover over your gear. Can’t trust people these days. To say I’m angry is a totally fair.

In your driveway too? Dude you have every right to be mad. It’s gonna be hard to trust anybody in the neighborhood now. People suck

Gotta be a severe repeat offender, or a really bold angler.

Sorry to hear that - I'd be paranoid about my neighbors for quite a while.

Sorry that sucks

I once had a favorite spinning rod in a rod bag in my truck while in the thousand islands

this rod was a favorite spinning rod that had caught tons of fish including a big trip to the Amazon

one of kids took it out of the cab in the am and instead of taking it in the room laid it in the bed of my pickup

i didnt know and drove down the road and parked for the ferry to go to Bolt castle and some human piece of garbage must have walked by and grabbed it

thieves are scum

Ouch luckly knock on wood have not had any  of my rods stolen, but imagine its a kick to the stomach, I couldn’t agree more some people are horrible we clearly work hard for the things we have…. Also with gear getting so much more expensive !

See if your neighbors have cameras facing your direction. Hopefully something comes up.

Maybe not you neighbors.  Even in a gated community there are workers, delivery people, etc.

Doesn't make it better, just maybe less hate for the neighbors.

Agree with asking about cameras.  See if there is a camera on the gate house.  Maybe they can see someone leaving with them sticking out a window or truck bed?

Sad you can't trust anyone these days.  I plan on placing cameras around the property .  We leave the house for extended periods of time.  Been lucky so far,but It's time to get covered even with a security system.

Wow that isn’t right ! And a gated community? What is this world coming too ? You can’t even trust the gated people who moved behind a fence to be safe . Time for a house to house ! No cameras in gated communities?

They could have been your best rods , it just stinks when people are this low !

sorry !

I could think of more fitting words than bold.
