I loved my AWE 9. Broken due to user error.  Stepped up from M to MH, and love it even more. Really light and sensitive.  It's an all-day rod.

Never tried the Trophy.

If you are on a budget just get the trophy series, pretty good bang for your buck. I bought one for my girl and it's been holding up well. Ive put some nice slot sized fish on the 9 footer. The elite has better components. You will be happy with either choice.

I bought my wife an Airwave Elite after recommended by Tony Stetzko. If there's anyone whose advice I'd take on surfcasting, it was Tony. Unfortunately, he's no longer around to ask.
