Jay in the Bay
Coming for a visit to Deerfield from Ft Myers for the weekend. Looking to do some fishing along the beach or pier. What kind of set ups, bait/tackle is good for the area? Is fishing permitted on the beaches or just pier?
Richizzzle
I was having a blast with a cuban yoyo, some heavy mono and little pieces of bait on small hooks off the pier. Caught tons of different species of fish until some dork female cop told me I cant use a yoyo to fish I need to buy a rod. Everyone was using bait, didn't see anyone using artificials, but a small kastmaster would probably work great on those houndfish, they were tons of fun. MTL
Fishing off beaches is permitted before life guards arrive and after they leave (9-5). Fish the pier EARLY,,,,, mid day becomes tough due to crowds The next pier south is better
