Hi Joe,

I have many Bauer MX5's and had MX4's.

Bauer has changed their minds a number of times in 15 yrs.

Yes - first it was neatsfoot oil.  They felt that that my get moldy - so they switched to ReelX.  I think that that desolves or weakens the glue holding the cork to the disk.

Then they went to a propriatary product that I still use.

I MAY have a few left.  You need very little.  If I can find an extra one - I'll PM you.

I like superlube for my cork drags.

Tibor offers a drag lube as well, I think it’s their own combo of superlube with graphite.

Correct on the Tibor graphite cork lube. You can get it direct from Tibor. The container will last you forever.

I've been using this stuff on my M4's and M5's

It works. I rinse my reels after every saltwater outting. I was once given like 10 drops of the stuff in a plastic bag at Bear's Den and that lasted me for SEVERAL years... So this bottle I've been using on leather things now too.

always used the Reel X its what comes in the box from Bauer

If you try to change it, you will ruin it. Try to hold it, and you will lose it.
