The providence river was going buck nutty yesterday. Birds, swirls.. the whole 9. I’ll stop at my local run on the way home. It’s a very consistent first to second week of April push, with scouts two weeks prior.

Not RI, but the herring commission in Middleboro recently reported a few scout herring at that run. Taunton River watershed.

I think the dredging project has stirred up enough life to have the birds etc working pretty much all winter. It’s been very noticeable.

Agreed, every morning driving to work over the bridge this winter has been nutty with bird action, last week there were thick concentrations of fluttering/diving gulls

Checked my run again. Nothing. No osprey yet either. They are pretty consistent showing up two days after I see the first herring.

Seen all sorts of life coming back to my local run. Mostly worms, crabs, and birds. No scouts yet but it feels like its only a matter of time.
