Based on the opponents they will face, the Eagles and the rest of the NFC East will not have easy schedules.  Of course what condition the opponents will be in when they are faced is unknown, as are the locations (home, away, neutral field) where the games will be played.

Time for the team to free up cap space in preparation for signings.  Watkins is expendable, so try and trade him prior to cutting him loose.

6 moves the Eagles can make to free up some cap space for 2023

Darius Slay -- Restructure
Lane Johnson -- restructure/extension
WR Quez Watkins --Cut, Post June 1 Cut, or Trade
Jason Kelce -- restructure
Jake Elliott- Extension
QB Jalen Hurts -- Monster Contract Extension

Hope they can keep Bradburry, great DB.  I would let Cox go as he is getting long in the tooth and that would free up some cash as would maybe letting Graham retire, also old.  I know that everyone would like to see the older players back who have contributed so much but because of the cap, it is a cold business.  Even Jason Kelce is expendable especially with his replacement waiting in the wings.

I hope the league doesn't outlaw this play.  I gotta admit I enjoyed watching football "down under" on my business trips to NZ and Australia.

Yeah, somebody (sports talking head) said the Eagles were all but invincible on short yardage situations which gave them a big edge.   Funny how nobody else thought of it.  Perfectly legal.  Course, you also need a dominant offensive line.  The league will probably outlaw it.

Okay it sure was fun ride in 2022, and hopefully 2023 will be even more exciting!

Come here to share your thoughts on the upcoming season, from roster changes, coaching changes, the draft, or whatever.

It was a fun ride at 125 mph until you hit that brick wall at the end.... lol

Wasn't much of a brick wall being a fairly seesaw even game.  I think the Iggs gave it away with Hurt's fumble/TD and weak 3rd quarter.  But we lost by 3.  The Iggs got the players to be in the hunt for the next five years, I think.

I know this is a ‘ looking ahead’ thread but I just want to point out that detractors were saying how soft the Eagles schedule was for 2022 when 2 other teams in the division made the playoffs.

I love when we make way past the breakwater at first light and head out, there's nothing better, the whole rest of the world just melts away for me.

Can the Eagles keep Hurts for $300 mil over 6 years?

Will Cox take a pay cut to stay?

Can they keep CJGJ ?

Does Kelce retire?

Cox is gone.  Time for Jordan Davis to steup up..

I dont think they can keep CJG either.

I hope Kelce comes back for another run.  That's a tough way to end things.

I still say Hurts more than made up for that fumble.  He could have been voted as MVP and nobody would have been shocked.  The D just could not get a stop down the stretch.  And Reid knew his best shot to win was to make sure the Eagles didnt get the ball back.  Well played.

Onward and upward.  Draft is next up.
