I dodged a major bullet. My glass shower door exploded on me. My wife put three stitches in, could have been a lot worse.

Yes, no lower appendages involved. A few small small cuts on my legs. 
 

I banged my knee into the door and it came off the track. I went to lift it back on and it exploded. I’m really lucky here.

Glad you're ok. Oddly enough when my wife and I redid our bathroom we opted for the old school curtain because I swear I hear more horror stories about the glass doors. Them falling outa nowhere, coming off track, etc.

 exactly that ! happened to me , those doors don't bend = they shatter , glad you are ok  my suggestion = don't cancel the trip

Heh Fergal,

 

Thank goodness your Angels were looking out for you. Not great ,but good you have a wife who can patch you up so expertly. She is a keeper.

She’s a vet too. 
 

My father in law just retired, he was a plastic surgeon and did a fellowship in hand surgery too. It would have been bad if I needed him.

A wife that will stitch you up?  Keep her.  Most of the new gens would have been crying on the floor in a fetal position waiting for the ambulance.  

 

And glad you are ok.  Glass can be a really bad thing.
