Why I Hate KTP

Whenever they have a sale, the "fine print" for excluded items is just about everything...

Stopped going there years ago, much for the same reasons. I no longer want to read a disclaimer about the items excluded. In fact the things I wanted were not even in stock, long before Covid. Half of all my sporting goods of any kind are online. Even Cabelas runs ads on merchandise not in stock or even available. It seems the big retailers think it’s okay to bait and switch. Believe it or not there are many new quality fishing related dealers on eBay, yes ebay, it takes a some time to get by eBay’s favorite China dealers, but once you find the hood dealers just bookmark.

You guys probably don't remember that I had some of the same exact complaints, plus just about everything was supposedly on sale for like 5% off so when you had a 20% coupon they'd tell you the item was on sale and you couldn't use it.   I despise that place so much, one of my buddies who wanted to crack my aggies gave me a $25 gift certificate to KTP for my birthday.   I waited a few months and told him I forgot my wallet after we had been fishing and needed $25 to run up to the supermarket on my way home.  I paid him back with the KTP gift certificate.

Is there a code for this sale, 'cause I don't see Benchmade in that list of exclusions... 25% off $300 would be  a tidy savings.

So those maple sugar candies are on sale? Seems like that's about it...

They do have a lot of exclusions, some due to manufacturers restrictions. Can still find a deal once and awhile.

Wow...I stopped going to KTP a few years back.  I was tight on funds, really tight, so I brought my guns in to sell.  The guy behind the desk was so pompus, so filled with disdain when he looked at my guns, I simply took my things and went home.  have not stepped foot there since.  Except once, when I desperately needed to pee after an 8 hour drive from Buffalo, NY.

Last sale they had, I got a Jigging World surf rod for 20% off and a Penn SSVI5500 for a mis-price and another 15% off, since Penn was included in the sale.  The mis-price was that it was $10 less than the 4500, which they honored.  KTP can be good and bad.
