It's probably a necessary rule.  That move only works if you're the only one doing it, imagine a whole line of cars fighting for the wall! And then "driving" consists solely sitting there with your foot on the floor and praying nothing breaks off a car ahead.  It was awesome to see once, but really don't think it should be a common practice

Nobody closed the door.  Brilliant move.

It sure generated alot of attention in a time when NASCAR can use the publicity.

It's on life support.

Sunday night was horrible.  Cypress Hill to open?  There may have  been 5 in attendance who knew who they are.

Now we need mufflers to make them sound like rice burners because the city of Chicago has a noise ordiance

The Clash is a clear attempt to pull in a different audience.  You are correct, it is on life support.  F1 has taken off and small track dirt racing is growing.  410 sprints and super late models are seeing a rise in attendance.  The Chilli Bowl last month pulled in over 360 entries and drivers from all disciplines trying their hand on dirt.  The interest has shifted.

In a market they have no business.  How many drivers have  come from LA?

The cars are no longer stock cars and are as unsafe as ever.

It's lost its roots in favor of money and it's not working.

I had the Clash on but was watching Lucas Oil LM's on the other set with that volume turned up.

Agree 100% with all you guys who got indigestion watching the Clash. I was one of them. Small track, too many cars, way too long for restarts, unrecognizable musical entertainment.....

I consider myself a total TV sports junkie. I'll watch a good tiddlywinks tournament if that's all that's on but the Clash was painful.

I'm hoping it was just an LA thing but NASCAR needs to take a critical look at its business model for the future.

Where I'm conflicted is I believe NASCAR corporate knows they are in trouble.  They are trying to make this Coliseum thing work for a chance to reach out to a new audience.  In that I give em credit for trying.  I think they need to stop worrying about the old school fan.  They, me included, are just that, OLD.  Most are set in their ways are not going to embrace any form of change.  Realize that and move on.  My conflict is this version of the Clash in terms of the racing product does not work.  For one, as sturdybeggar notes, too many cars.  They are trying to follow the short track roots, heat race, B Mains, LCQ, A Main etc.  That's fun.  But short tracks have 24 car A Main fields.  That track can't hold 27 full size cars on it.   Shorten the race.  Cut it in half even.  75 laps no breaks and fnd a way to open the infield for cars to pull off without creating a yellow.   Bottom line, the audience wants a faster show, eliminate that halftime nonsense and they will be on their way to a better on track product.  For this event at least.

The clash in my opinion should be the cup champion, and whoever won a race the season before.

Nothing more and nothing less.

And you are correct about the short track roots.

The new 10X racing has been better then this stuff, which is pretty sad honestly.

Next thing is they will be racing the beach in Mexico

Crazy video.  I watched it three times, and it freaked my screen out, forcing me to reboot.  Wazzup with dat?

Bring back the old stock car racing, complete with the 1980's model cars!
