I am on the Jersey shore. Anyone got a guy who installs deck Matt's (like sea deck or marine mat)? I know bigger places do it, but always try to find local businessmen. Suggestions?

Sea deck only rest sux in one way or more . Do not let anyone cut it with a blade or free hand it.since it's a mat and squishy its hard to get a consistent cut with no beveled edges etc. Round corners are hard to get consistent. I have done an few and they do not cut good by hand especially if your one to pay attention  to details and mirror images. I have tried many of diff methods. Digital camo hides all imperfections .stay away from a design print. Like teak or fish scales. These two waste alot of material if you want lines to match up. This is something you don't skimp on . Pay a professional  that will come out and digital layout your boat with sensor and have it cut out on a machine. Go as thick as you can . The thicker the better in long-term and your feet back will love you. Make sure you personally  detail every inch of that deck before they install the mat. I have seen them just come out and not wash Clean.  So any stain you want gone do it before you have the deck installed. Any Hatch , service hole ,cleats, rod holders etc needs to be revealed now before it to late and makes it harder. After install make sure ever Hatch or service hole is still functional. The more broken up the mat is . The better the deck drains and washes off. Plus it will give more contrast when done with the gelcoat coming thur.

That stuff is to boat decks what shag carpets were to hardwood floors. A pad at the helm, ok, but full boat? Na.
