Had some on Block Island this Fall. Windmills are calling them in and confusing them I’ve been hearing.

Do you have any official statement stating that?

Heard this as well. Read something about them not doing the tests on the dead whales to see if the sonars are messing with their ears/hearing/senses…I’m definitely not an expert but something is going on.

My understanding is that the sonar being used for the windmills is not as powerful as people say; nothing like the seismic guns that the petroleum surveyors use, or the military sonars used to hunt subs.  All their looking for is bottom contour and composition, which you can often determine from an angling-grade fishfinder.  From what I hear, the sonars they're using are stronger than that, but still not anything likely to cause harm.  So far, I haven't seen any science supporting the claim that the wind-farm sonars are doing harm; NMFS certainly denies it.

Something close to half have been necropsied as ship strikes.

Cause of  the rest is unknown so far, but again, there has not been any science suggesting that sonar is the cause.  From what I can tell, the claims that the whale deaths are sonar-linked have not originated with the scientific community,
