Rotonda? Senior citizens? That place is very interesting. In fact, I was thinking there must be some good largemouth bass fishing in the canal system at Rotonda.

Will you have a kayak available?

Englewood to Boca Grande where there's structure points are always good, Walking the beaches early light are very promising. Watch the surface of the water for wakes, pushes of water from schooling fish. Snook, trout and jack frequent those areas.. Google fishing reports from your area, Cyberangler does a good job

Walk the beach.  one hand spinning rod, white bucktail.  throw along the beach most of the time.  there's a trough that runs along the shore and early morning the Snook like to work it along with all kinds of critters.  Keep an eye out over the first bar for activity, but along the beach is best.  I throw 1/4 ounce ball head homemade bucktails.  white, orange and white, pink and white.  15# bite tippet on 10# Braid. bring a spook for fun if it gets crazy.  in the canals a yum dinger, 5" in Elders Magic, rigged wacky with a weedless neko hook 1/0.  throw it at stuff, points of weeds, any wood, canal intersections.  let it sink to bottom, shake it a bit.  reel in and repeat.  kinda mindless but it catches when you don't know the water.  Good luck.

Beaches on Boca on up to Venice have been a little quite. Canal system and ponds will be fun. Largemouth are pre-spawn. Tarpon and snook in the canals and river system right up the road from ya on 776.  We went from the 40's last few nights to the mid 60's at night mid 80's daytime.

Small shrimp imitation, gulp, Paddletails 3-5in 1/4 to 1/2oz jigheads and small bucktails white or dark color at night. Bigger fish have been showing well at night and falling to bigger paddletailsup to 8in. and bucktails Moving water will be your friend around docks, seawalls rock lined banks.  Placida trestle area has been decent.  Good luck and have a blast

What can you get to now?  Is the bridge to Sanibel back?  The hurricane hit that area hard.

My favorite area around there is Stump Pass.

Red tide is bad, coughing and sneezing , burning throat whenever near salt water. Arrived east coast 2 days ago and it’s crystal clear.
