Borax and brown sugar re vibe your eggs, mesh, stretch thread if making sacks. If you catch a brown with eggs you can slide thumb and index from head to tail to get eggs, then release fish. Brown trout eggs are best

Didn't even think of that.   We used to "milk" male shad and "strip" eggs from female shad in the holding tank at the Saco dam before trucking them up river.

My winter wonderland is GONE!!  On the extreme coast, the Poseidon and Aeolus flipped flopped the "Lottsa Snow, a Little Rain" forecast into a "Dusting, <1", to POURING RAIN"!!  Not a happy snowshoer!!

I'm inland and I'm anticipating wet cement when I get out to clear the driveway.  Called in due to my foot, so that should be extra fun.  Winter nightmare?

Just make sure you give the shovels and blower a good WD40 coating.  Helps the blower make sausage...

Lol.  I'm usually chopping the sausage out of the chute.  That thing needs to go to the shop this coming spring.  Been running on half choke for a couple years now.

Hope everyone is prepped for this crazy arctic blast we're getting.

Kind of funny in that we've become so wimpy because of these nothing winters of late.

While living in Northern Illinois, the coldest and hottest place I've ever lived in, I learned what "cold as a witch's left titty" really meant.  In the 80s we would routinely have an ENTIRE WEEK where the temperatures, not the wind chill, would never get above 0° F!!!  Some winters it would happen 2 times.  Nothing like going out at lunch when it's -5°F.  On the "coldest" event, AM TEMP was -40°C or F, they cross there, with a -70°F wind chill...

Was always funny when an extended negative freeze broke and I went outside on the first "warm", +5°F morning.  Was ready to go back in and put on shorts and & Tshirt!!

Shades of Muppet Christmas Carol...

Glad I got my tank filled!  Hitting 40 on Sunday and above 40 on Monday.  Damn right, back to fishing!  Fish will be hungry!

We lost power for 27 hours, but had gas fireplace and used 12 v. batteries and an inverter to power blower, 77 degrees. The town plow filled in driveway thinking we were in Fl. They did come back and clear up, Then I snowblowed our place and 2 neighbors

how many batteries to get thru 27 hours?

Only 2 , ran it about 5 minutes every 30-40 minutes, the Regency stove radiated great heat, but not in this weather

It's starting to remind me of Virginia, and despite loving to ski I think I'm good with it! Tied some new flies to try out next week, can't wait.
