Hey guys we need to have our voices heard and stop this multinational company dumping in our coastal waters. Although town meetings and rallies are nice. We need to email our congressmen and representatives and let them know how we feel. Let them know we are concerned. Let them know that if this goes thru we will not be happy with them. We voted these bums in now let's put them to work for us. I have emailed them in past they do listened and do read the emails. I have had some issues resolved surprisingly. Bill Keating represents Plymouth county. Here is his link it's very user friendly https://keating.house.gov/contact/email For those of you who don't live in Plymouth county You can find and send your message to your constituent in your county this does not only affect Plymouth county It affects the whole coast of Massachusetts. This isn't the 1970's anymore we are not a third world country. This **** should not be happening.

Wrong forum. We here actually want them to dump this completely insignificant amount of water with safe concentrations of radioactive particles well below federally allowed levels. We need to move on with decomissioning the plant and hopefully build a new one that is more modern, instead of holding everyone hostage with no viable options in mind. The soccer mom group is on facebook.

Whats the issue?

Have you seen Chernobyl and the horrible way people died of radiation poisoning? Swimming in Cape Cod Bay  after the power plant is removed will be just like that except your skin won’t fall off and you’ll be perfectly fine.
WTF is up with all of “The Sky Is Falling” topics in MA?

The way I see it, when you think the boogeyman is under your bed, there are two ways to handle it;

You can pull your head under the covers and call for your parents to save you, or....

You can get up and look under the friggin bed.

Nine times out of ten, education is cure for fear.

But if you do write your congresspeople, be sure to include your alternative suggestions on how to dispose of the water.

Sending it to someone else's backyard is usually the best choice. You know, because the environment.

People were scared of the nuclear power plant so it got shut down. Now that it is shut down they are scared to have it dismantled. It’s Unbelievable.

But we don't want coal fired plants either because, that stuffs evil

And we don't want hydro because it messes up the rivers

And we don't want wind farms because it causes evil harmonics and other weird stuff

And solar is ugly.

Exactly. People just complain about everything.

happy for them to go through the permit process like anyone else. The big issue was when they said they would dump the water without a permit, after which the EPA correctly told them to f off.

as for other options, who cares? I’m a capitalist, if Holtec gets their permit denied then they screwed up their business. why should the environment bail them out?

I guess my biggest problem is I don't trust this company it's all about the bottom line. You can look at the data and you can get two different experts give you two opposing theories as to what the consequences are dumping this crap in the bay. You believe what you want to believe. I'm a lifelong "masshole" and dont feel like being Holtech's guinea pig. Not for me or my family.
