I’m in central NJ.  Besides Tightlines in Parsippany (great shop!!), are there any decent fly shops that cater to SW  within in 2 hour drive?  NY, PA, Delaware, CT?

I’m unfamiliar with the area and can’t recommend shops but I’d go to the fly show in edison next weekend.

The Compleat Angler is in Darien. That might be within your window.

On my list, thanks

I have not been there in a few years but if you find yourself in NYC the Urban Angler on 5th ave is pretty good.

Streams of Dreams , Hwy. 17 n Saddle River , N.J. . Very good shop , very good people. Helped me out with some casting issues , good selection of gear , fly tying materials, will work with you on trade ins for new rod purchases , Good Intel , from Catskills trout to Delaware R smallies , stripers to The Keys , this is a smaller gem well worth finding. The proprietor has solid contacts in the Keys if the need for a guide should arise , or there's a need for current info , they actually have good connections all thru out the Caribbean. Very easy to find / get to, good luck

Orvis is in midtown manhattan only a few blocks from urban angler and Shannon’s fly shop is in califon nj.  I don’t recall how much salt stuff Shannon’s has but if it’s not far from you it may be worth stopping by. Good folks there.

Shannons is a nice , very small , limited shop catering to trout fishermen. They have a very limited amount of salt water gear , tying materials, that being said , the guys who work there & the proprietor, are good people , I've started many a year off grabbing a new license, a handful of fly's and some intel before heading to the KL Gorge or Pt. Mountain Reserve on New Year's Day , both spots are mere minutes away . They also offered casual Sunday AM tying sessions in the off season . They will order equipment for you also, and they provide a guide service with access to private water . I hope this helps .

Anytime I'm near Compleat Angler I try to visit. They carry extensive range of tying materials and patiently answer my questions. Their prices are the same as on line sources.
