I will be the first one to admit I’m a shot out madman.

What would you do if your first 50 had you foaming at the mouth?  I didn’t choose this monster.  She chose me!

All my respect to you and yours

@adams54

The parking situation is a tragedy of the commons and this thread is following suit. But I’m entertained.

and @RiverCommando215 pretty funny but if a van pulls up and any dudes hop out, let alone with any kinda hosiery, I’m bout to be all fists, fingernails and teeth.

(unfortunately I think those may be the wrong things to say.)

Its been like 2 weeks and some of you have already cracked. It's gonna be a looooong winter.

haha. Listen I'm a weather watcher, and frankly I think we have a good chance of getting out of January with little in the way of bitter cold and snow. If that happens, will be back on the fish grind before you know it.

Got in to the marina out back MoCo last night 11:30 pm looking for wayward herring. Cast around a Sabiki with a 3 color led haddock light and a flasher made from a TastyCake French Apple Pie tin.

Tide looked to be dead flat.  High. I didn’t see the sandbar from the dock.

I was only there 30 minutes or so.

No bites.

woke up and hit the inlet down the coast on the south side. Lost my rig where it curves around by the statue.

lots of birds in the water just loafing around. But not feeding. A few gannets swimming around and diving accasionally, but not bringing anything up.

i re-rigged, but got nothing. Had to leave for an appointment.

May try Brooklyn later this afternoon.

Went out again last night on my way back to Virginia.

Decided against going into NY where the fish have actually been sighted and caught because I figured it was a big investment in tolls for just a window of a few hours fishing.  May consider driving up for an afternoon and late into the night trip toward the end of the month.

Same inlet.  Fished the south side from 4 to 6.  Nada.

Then switched to an area under the lights at the base of the jetty on the north side.

Two guys coming from the jetty had been skunked.  I did a few casts and lost my freshly rigged savbiki with glow-in the dark lures after third cast!

Took that as a sign to call it quits.
