LowEnd
Tried on Wednesday and Thursday no luck. Went out this morning and finally broke the skunk. Nice 30” bass. Had one other hit but didn’t get a hook to stick. jps1010, Richizzzle, the3fishheads and 1 other

There’s no way they’re center island already right? jps1010
Bonz
Figured yesterdays weather might give me some action but it didn't. I'm located center LI on the North SHore.
Popasilov
Field #9, Jones beach, is killing. Bad day fishing is still much better than good day work.

There's no way they're that far east out front. Be nice Popa, don't send people on a wild...plover chase? Popasilov
PhantomofTheSurf
On the Water posted their migration map, which is my signal to start gearing up. 30 days until they get going, methinks. Time to dust off the equipment.
Richizzzle
Been odd so far. Usually this time of year bait guys outfish plugs 10:1 but so far I have seen the total opposite! Thats why I love fishin', you never really know what the hell is going on
cheech
It’s also extremely odd that RB in Joisey is uncharacteristically quiet. North of there, the tidal estuary fishing is stuck in first gear. Hopefully it improves tomorrow. edit- RB apparently woke up Edited March 28 by cheech Tis better to remain silent and thought the fool, than to speak and remove all doubt. Antek
Went out on the late afternoon drop on Sunday. Water was a balmy 44 degrees here in the Bronx, which of course brought out this year’s local Darwin Awards contenders on their jet skis. Apart from the noise enthusiast community, the weather also brought out this fatboy. Caught on a 1/2 oz bucktail for my first of the year. Put up a surprisingly strong fight too considering the water temps. After this current annoying cold snap, things should be looking up. Ospreys are back in town. They’re looking at me, I’m looking at them. Once I see them getting gassed up, then I know the bait is in. Things will be kicking into gear soon. Looking for the baby jellyfish to show up too, probably next week. Edited March 30 by Antek Richizzzle, hobobob and csteven

Here at least, the top offenders by far are what I call the “demboats”, the fleet of boats from the local shithole marina (the Orchard Beach of marinas) that cruise endlessly back and forth from May through October blasting dembow/reggaetón music at ear numbing levels on their sound systems, often till 3-4am. Sometimes there will be up to 5 demboats out on the bay at once battling each other with the bass cranked up and ridiculous LED lights. It’s unreal, you can literally hear these guys from the other side of the Sound. As the Bronx is the only boro where the NYPD doesn’t have a marine unit, apparently nothing can be done to stop them short of mining the bay. I’ve wondered often what this intense bass bombardment does to the fish. Sometimes there will be a demboat with up to ten jet skis in a phalanx formation around them, a true marine noise assault team. Demboat is such a great term.
