luckyOC
Went way sooouth for vacation… down where mile marker 0 is… went on a half day charter reef / wreck fishing with a few mins trying for a tarpon. Every thing was going normal, got enough snapper to eat a few days, caught a couple mackerel on my travel rod I brought along. Boy saw a flash in the water, captian saw it and grabbed the only rod available, with a bottom jig and live pinfish… casted to it and it took it. First billfish for me, not huge, but surprise for us and the captain (who recieved a nice tip lol). 2 miles off the coast in 30 ft of water, with an anchor …. Captain said he has only caught one other that in his decades fishing. No tarpon where biting, rolling on the surface right in front of us lol. On the way out, stopped at robbies and let a silver king try to eat my hand lol GoBow, Striper D, SteveZ and 8 others
