they look good.

its coated just high enough over the knuckles to make it useful.

I have found that the coating on mine (it’s a different brand then pictured) is not 100% waterproof… water resistant yes but not waterproof. It is perfect for handling fish and also the spray from your reel when casting.

Let me know if those are actually waterproof!

Well, you could have just said you don't surf fish. It doesn't have to be frigid to be cold, 40 degrees with some wind and 50 degree water and maybe add a little rain to go with the spray and waves, you'll be cold enough. April early May and October , November and December all can have days and nights when its cold, and when it drops into the 20's at night with wind, its cold.

You might ask yourself why your not surf fishing in those conditions, I've caught more fish in my life in bad weather than good, some good rain gear is a blessing.

Point is, its nice to be dry in most weather, the more protection that works will help you be comfortable. I always carried dry sweats, socks, and clean dry towels, if I had a drive home, I would always change when finished, driving with undies and gear that may be sweat soaked and/ or wave wet isn't the way to face the drive home.

Not sure if its been brought up but I have a set of Glacier Gloves that I like.  Index finger and thumb tips can pull back and hold with velcro, which helps for tying knots.  They aren't waterproof, but neoprene so when they get wet they still insulate and stay warm-ish.  I've come to the conclusion that, if you're fishing in January...you're gonna have cold fingers, that's just how it is.  But I like the Glacier Gloves because they dont get in the way, and they keep my hands warm-ish even when they get wet.
