Redfish guide?

Anybody got a redfish guide they’d suggest? Preferably within an easy drive from New Orleans. Looking into options for a February/March trip. Thanks y’all!

I’ve fished with Gregg Arnold several times. He is well known in NOLA.

I guess I should also clarify that by an easy drive I mean a couple hours or less.

My wife and I stayed at Woodland Plantation a few years ago. There's a couple of guides that work out of there that were excellent. The redfishing there is first class.

Fished with a guy out of Gulf Shores.  Chasing specks and reds.  Can't remember his name but I remember his feet.  Said he hadn't worn shoes in 30 years.  Good spot but if willing to drive I'd go to Texas.

Greg Moon or Bailey Short out of Hopedale.  They are usually booked well in advance, but they are both world-class.  You usually meet at Penny's which is 40 minutes from downtown New Orleans.

He was in Gulf Shores.  Recommended to go to Texas. Just was a fun memorable trip.   We got into them but different time of year.  Hope you catch.  Post pics.

When we were in La redfishing, we met several people from Texas who traveled there to fish.

My biggest of the week was 46"

Not at all.  He was a character.   As far as Texas I would be Houston area.  Weather will be the determinate.

Alaskan guide I was fishing with this past June, who use to guide in the NO area,  made following recommendations to me.  Daughter lives in NO and I’m planning a trip this spring so I asked him for some suggestions.  
 

“Check out Peter scafaru with marsh on the fly, Greg moon with Louisiana fly fishing charters, Austin debruin with redhook fishing. Those guys are all solid and if they can’t get you in they can get you with someone that can.”
