Stealth 1325 or Black Hole East Coast

All my 10/11ft ers are heavy, better suited to inlets or structure, tiring in a heavy blow. Winter build 11 ft 1-4oz moderate action for open beach use....3oz pencils, 2-3oz metal lips, 1-3oz bucktails/tins. Leaning towards the Century stealth 1325 blank, considering the Black Hole east coast special blank. Century rates it 1-4, Black Hole 3/4-3. Similiar weights, tip, butt diameters.

Have no experience with either, anybody built or use either....thoughts, preferences.

I have the 11' stealth. It's an awesome rod. 3oz is the max I like to throw with it. I have thrown 4oz and it works. I would suggest if throwing 4 or better consistently to go with the s2. I have no complaints with my s1.

Ask mike from advanced fishing about the 10’3 inch. Weapon jr. It’s crazy light. I threw it today when I saw Mille on the beach with it. Threw a mile with no effort. I think it’s 3/4-3. I’m having one built after seeing it today

He showed me that blank when I was in his shop. How does it do on the low end and high end of it’s ratings? That was gonna be my spring purchase..

I have the pre-graphene S2 1326 which I believe is nominally 2-5oz, but I find it likes 1-3.5 best. Four ounces makes it work and 5 would be borderline lob, at least in my hands. I can even throw 0.75 off the tip if needed, not to the horizon, but far enough for a 3/4oz offering. And, it offers that progressive S2 taper and plenty of backbone, enough to take a 100#+ tarpon out of the surf on 30# braid.

I was throwing the top end stuff up to 3oz it was fine I didn’t throw lower end

I have the 10ft Stealth 1-4 and it is my favorite rod, paired with a VS 150 i can throw this rod all day and not have a tired shoulder.  Super sensitive, and has way more backbone then you would think.  Its down side is it is too soft to really fish a pencil well, it can do it but its not its best quality.  Metal lips, tins, and swimmers excel with this rod.

I also have the 10' s1 1-4oz. but I like the 11' when throwing the higher weights for distance.

I have an S2 it is awesome and will do exactly what you’re needing it to do.  No experience with black hole rods.

Kinda just what I'm looking to accomplish. My 10/11ft GSB's  get the call for Montauk or inlet work, looking for a lighter blank to cover open beach scenarios that's easier to swing thru a full tide.

Check out the Odm Nex1. You may really like it. All of you described you would like to do I do with mine. Its a 10 foot 1-5 blank trimmed 6 from the top just stiffen up the tip. I usually have a bucktail on and this way the rod feels awesome BUT my buddy just got a 9 foot 1-5 and it feels even better lol. Good luck man.

You look at the surf machine at all?

The Stealth 1325 blank weighs in at 8.4 oz. not much lighter then a one piece GSB.

Understand you are looking for that moderate action for a build but if you need to save weight look at the sling shot or a surf machine elite.

Went through this yesterday, my 1201L set up NCG needs a guide repair. Broke out my old 1201L COF rod. It was heavy in hand compared to the NCG rod but it works pencils way better. NCG rod weighs 12 oz. vs the COF rod at 16 oz. 
Definitely love the NCG rod a lot more.

Much like your self thinking about a lighter 10’6” set up with a VS 150 for those long sessions. Problem is most manufacturers do not list the blank weight so making a decision is complicated.
