Have great luck and a great trip! Amazing country and fishery, been to the wild Pacific coast 2x on a kayak. Panama City is quite unique too. Good old SS poppers are just as deadly. I felt speed jigs caught the most consistently.

Would love to afford a trip like this at some point.

Hope you do well - I'm gonna live vicariously though your updates.

also, holy Zenaq, have you used the rods before? Are they really worth the coin?

I have used the lighter ones on striper, reds  and albies and their Blackart’s on river smallies and they are very nice

they are extremely light and very well made

i am a rod junkie so after trying I one I went a bit nuts and have 8 of them now with more on order

to be honest are they worth 3 and 4 times what other good rods are ?

I dont know but I do like them and my other high end rods are sitting more these days and the Zenaqs are getting used.

The Jig Star and The Nomad are also excellent rods

here is a Foketto  long cast on striper and albies

thank you for the kind words and I will keep this  thread posted

Maybe one day I'll be in a similar stage of life, fishing often and enjoying the finer makes.

Looking forward to the updates.

Looks like your prepared to open a tackleshop down there lol.   I packed the same way on my first trip to Belize before dialing in what worked.  Are you shipping stuff ahead of time or carrying all that on a plane?

I am tightening it down.  It will all fit in my luggage and i have buddies that I need to cover as well

the operator that owns Panafish has changed to a new one and from past expierence I dont like to count on being able to get anything where i am going or anyone else for my gear i will show a pic how it all condenses down

thank you

You are definitely going down there well armed.  I spent a week at Tropic Star a few years back.  (I couldn't afford to go there then, but some of my friends chipped in as a retirement gift when I got out of the Marine Corps.)  The Captains there weren't real keen on targeting tuna at the time because there were so many billfish being caught, but we managed to get our Capt to go after the yellowfin with topwaters one afternoon.  Didn't have the optimum gear for it but we had a blast catching fish from 20 -40 lbs and a couple 50- 60 lbs mixed in pretty much non stop for a couple of hours.  One of my favorite fishing memories of all time.   I hope you have a great trip.  After this, I think you will know exactly what those rods and reels are capable of.  Let us know when you get back.

Those look very similar to the Z-man jigheads, just mega-upsized.
