The fish blog was created as a common communal gathering place to share and report weekly fishing activity. Having this information in one thread benefits those who greatly use this RI forum and ply our local waters. The premise is to gather all weekly reports into one common portal, thus making it easy to access, view and add your own fish reports.   This is the fifth year for this type of approach. Post your success or skunks, either way, black or white, zero to hero, let us all know if the bite is good or bad.  Fresh, factual information is one of the best sources of Intel we have at our disposal to predict where the better fishing will be tomorrow.

Lots of big surf and ground swells predicted till Wednesday.

We'll see what happens after that?

This week we put a ban on any scientific discussions involving any kind of hard tails on this thread.

It's OK to continue the discussions on last week's blog.

Migrations should begin soon.

6/10 on the. NE’er scale at where I cut my teeth after Hurricane Isabel in 2003….some fish, decent ones blowing up on my Roberts ranger way out at end of cast, fun to see slot bass to over a lot come fully out of water multiple times, it was the only single hook top water plug in my bag(little weedy for anything else at the tide stage I fished)….felt good to sweat and crank the arms in the daytime versus the usual night shift living on 2hrs of sleep going into a Monday at work

I was working the ranger too with good results. The wind was causing my line to quickly scope out to the side and I would watch as keeper bass chased it around on the surface until one would finally get hooked. Yesterdays conditions are my favorite !

I had an unreal day catching mostly slots and over slots on a GT ice cream. Haven’t had a day like that in awhile, bass blowing up on my lure until one hit that single swing hook. Great lure for the conditions, 3oz. and casts a mile. Saw some very large fish get caught yesterday.

Found some nice sized fish way up the bay in very skinny water mid-day today.....not sure what they were on, except they were blowing up and not at all picky.  This one had a bunch of digested slop and lots of small mantis shrimp shells in him....

If you are driving the beach be careful the sandcliff is at least 6' and the track might be 2 cars wide but getting smaller all the time this NE surf has carved away the beach

Went to a spot yesterday with water and saw three or four birds working close in but no fish. I cast my lure over and over again but no fish were cooperating. I fished the same spot for 4 hours with no hits. This fall has been very very slow for me maybe I need to change my tactics.

We all have days like that. I would definitely try to switch up your tactics.  Different location, times, presentation, tides etc.

Yes thank you, could be right I will try other rides and locations. Currently my go to lure this year has been the bucktail jig I have gotten a good amount on them. I used to use a senko as a trailer but a nice man told me to use a pork ring trailer instead and I have bad better success. I love to feel the hit of the fish on the bucktail. It makes my heart shake. One day I think I will catch the big one in this lure
