Had a nice long talk on Friday about tog fishing with the captain that put the guys on the last 2 Jersey record tog ….he said spot lock has put a real hurting on the tog numbers and it’s only going to get worse. When I asked about the best place for numbers he said Rhode Island by a mile, best shot at a real big fish was late season in south Jersey or Delaware …. And by the second week of January he’s booked for the year for tog trips.

Please don't use this thread for anything but mocking Y.

And yes, Daffin knows a thing or two about tog.  But to say spot lock is responsible for the population down there is laughable.  Few spots, far away mile wise and they have gotten pounded for a decade or more.

1 hour ago, Billybob said:

I'm not buying his spot lok BS.

It does allow jamokes like you to get on a piece correctly and fish it out.  I'll give him that.

So, it is lowering the barrier a bit.  But the damage has been done prior to the technology.

I kid.  Our last two tog trips have not been the greatest and I don't remember if BB made either of those.

Of course I put a limit plus on the deck each time, but we can't go by me.

I do see Billybob with his big striped carp, so we know he can catch them.  Last week he apparently put EB on the smallest albie that I have ever seen photographed, so he has some skills there, too.

But deep water tog on a 20 degree morning... I haven't seen it.
