I hope all others who break the law see the consequences.

Hopefully the penalties will ratchet up and become more of a determent.

Now it’s time to nab some people who are flagrant violators from shore  -  keeping shorts or hustling a striper to the car and returning for another.

Old news but good to see it. Strange how they won't bust any of the immigrants that keep everything they catch regardless of species or size.

I dont know the details of this bust, but it appears that given the limited enforcement resources they are focusing on the most egregious violators. The ones who are poaching in big volumes from boats. Doubt the white bucket shore crew will get much more than a rare slap on the wrist.

The State DEM should punish these guys severely as possible.

What about setting up stockade stations on the fish piers in Galilee the ones they use in colonial times?

Remember those where your hands, head, were handcuff thru a wooden yoke.

Imagine smelling that lobstah bait all day, seagull pooping on you as all the party boat regulars go by.

WPRI) — A fisherman was hit with a $9,000 fine for catching striped bass in prohibited waters, according to the R.I. Department of Environmental Management (DEM). The DEM said William McLaughlin III was caught dumping striped bass from his boat in an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) off Block Island back in June 2020.

That night, officers observed numerous striped bass being dropped from McLaughlin’s ship, Just for the Haters, as McLaughlin left the area in an attempt to avoid contact with law enforcement. Officers subsequently apprehended the vessel and still found two large striped bass on board.
