Pictures are floating around of stripers in SoCal, but are these separate pictures from two anglers of the same fish..? You be the judge

I say same fish, for the same reasons already posted. I will say, although they are sort of a unicorn, it’s definitely not unheard of to catch a striper in the SoCal surf.

I have definitely seen more SoCal stripers being caught this year on FB.  I heard a striped bass farm in Mexico had a bunch of stripers escape which is why there are more stripers in SoCal now.

I think you see a lot more of everything caught, because now everything is posted on Facebook... That and there are more SO Cal. fisherman, because of COVID...

No, I don't remember seeing a lot of striped bass pics in So Cal 2 yrs ago or even 5 yrs ago.  These pics are all from about 2 weeks ago.  Two fishermen are from Ventura and one guy is from Huntington beach.  I don't know which beaches they caught them.  I added a sea bass pic to prove it is So Cal.  It is a good 4 week period for striped bass pics in general.  Maybe, it just happens to be a really good week for So Cal considering I can think of 5 striper pics from the south these past few weeks.

I will say this, most of those I know of who have caught stripers from Santa Barbara and south, don’t and won’t post pics of them on social media. Just because you haven’t seen them doesn’t mean they haven’t been being caught.

There where quite a few caught before Facebook got so popular with the fishing crowd... You used to see them occasionally posted up on the old Southern CA. Surf Fishing forum....  I caught my one and only about 6 years ago on either, a ghost shrimp or sand crab (I can't remember which) while fishing for corbina, in Long Beach CA... Fluke catch, and I probably should have put on a Lucky Craft, to see if they're were more around... It was only about 24" but was fun on 4#...
