Just an FYI, but all serial numbers are unique...that's their purpose :)

Hello Leefish49,

Your reel was made in August 2009.  The H signifies the month and the 09 signifies the year.

One thing that looks unique is the gold outline on the cover.

I've owned a few of the torques and none of them had that.

yes and my other black torque does not have the line capacity written on the rotter

Good eye and now that you mention it, the font is different as well.

Hello Leefish49,

Thanks for the pics.  The reel is a sample/preproduction model.  I will see if I can get more info on this particular reel.

Hello Leefish49,

We actually built our first 500 pcs between all sizes styles and colors with this type of engraving.  It went from this style (laser engraving) to machine engraving after the 500 pc run.  Pre-production/sales samples also had this style of engraving but it would have been prior to August 2009.  This is most likely one of the first 500 prior to else switching to machine engrave.

It's like the redheaded stepchild of the early production VS.  You got yourself a gem IMO.  I'd hold on to it.
