I was there for the July New moon and fished that early morning before day break and and night.....repeated to do the same for the next few days.    Where the hell are the bass?!

Some schoolies feeding on those bay minnows but that's it.   Saw 1 hook up herring run but that was it.

This has to be the worst July New moon fishing for bass in a long time....

Anyone else have any luck?

I had really good luck...

I was lucky to talk my son out of going to the canal.

Glad you guys caught.

For the times and places I fished, no one was hooking up.  I stayed at those spots till I was the last to leave.

What were you guys catching them on?

I'd say the canal is a bounce the bottom game.

Everyone knows all the fish are from plymouth to plum Island. They either went around the cape or went through the canal unnoticed

I've thrown everything I had in my arsenal in all the spots I fished.

Poppers, pencil poppers, sp minnows, bucktails, savage eels, weightless 9/0hooks with a white hogys, swim shads, and a kitchen sink.

The Universe didn't want me hooking up this year from the canal.

Not hogys, but wanted to try these too and still failed to hook up.  Looked great in the water either way.
