My dying to break 40#. Sad to see countless big bass being killed for 2 reasons. They are being killed and everyone is catching!

Not iced + not bled = garbage. What a waste!

Don't worry, Wegmans will have that same striper for sale for $24.99/lb and people will love eating it too.

No doubt. The summer people or skukes as we call them locally eat that sh@# right up. Advertised as local fresh caught striped bass. Townies know better lol.

Go to Plymouth and look like a hero. Idiot fishing. Over the years how many places have been the hot spot, only to be fished out and never recover? I’m out of buzzards bay. I remember as a kid over 20 years ago, Sow and Pigs, Quicks, Devil’s bridge, Noman’s, and Squibnokket (along with a few others) were all bigtime, reliable commercial destinations. Guess how many people fish those places commercially now. Most of those are barely recreational destinations any longer…

Am I wrong or aren’t these stripers migrating up and down the coast?  Areas aren’t getting fished out, the population is just getting hit as a whole because of over harvesting from season to season.  My last great season was in 2013 when I could catch and release 40 stripers in an evening with my fly rod. Now I settle for 3 or 4 if conditions are good.

At that size, they're still not that good even when they are properly iced and bled.

But in the condition they are in in those pics, yeah, PURE GARBAGE..

Btw, all these photos are from the last week in the New England fishing groups of Facebook.

Ofc everyone who says anything about how ****** this is gets told their "Jealous" and "Recs kill more stripers". Infuriating.

They got the fishery back last time it collapsed.

They may not have such a happy ending this time.

Unless something has changed, fish buyers don't want the fish blend.  I've never understood that since it improves the quality of the fish immensely?
