Tranx is great. I use the 400 for muskies and I love it. I’ve used the komodo too but I didn’t like it as much as the tranx. the komodo didn’t cast as far with the same rod and bait as the tranx I found, which for muskies is ok but if you need more distance I prefer the tranx. Can’t speak about the daiwa lexa, never used it. If I were to get another 300-400 sized casting reel it would be the tranx.

I have a Calcutta 400 (the previous model the CT-400, no b), but still very much a decent reel. I removed the level wind long ago (better casting and less things to break when fighting a fish). I don't use it as much as I should mainly because I am still not as comfortable with a baitcaster as I am on a spinning reel (still birdnest it every bunch of casts), but like I said that isn't the reel's fault.

I have a Penn Squall 400lphs. I like the reel, cast great plus easy to work on to keep it maintained.
