Hello,

Im looking at the literally dozens of receivers, both upper and lower, available for purchase. So many and some with different "milspec" features, all at different price points. Wow, lots of possibilities and enough to be confusing.

Im looking at Wison Combat billet pair and a Aero m4e1 forged pair.

I dont think I can go wrong with these.

Any issues? I don't find any unusual complaints with either.

Good stuff there, a friend built a couple on Aeros.

Hey there, hope you're well!

I like the m4 style.

I like the same manufacturer for the lower and upper. These are not " precision" matched sets, but visually mated as close as possible for fit.

I also want to completely assemble my rifle, both upper and lower.

This is a "rifle" length, legal build im planning.

Nothing wrong with buying matched sets, but for AR-15s I haven't found many issues with current components.

I have found issues with AR-9s and AR-10s.

Also find the quality of even the budget lowers to be very good.

I have used Aero , Rock River , CMMG , Stag , and Anderson and others all without a problem , But if you mix Uppers and lowers from different makers the color will likely be off , Other than that it's LEGO's for men.

Check out Bear Creek Arsenal.  I recently bought one of their assembled uppers for an AR15 - prefect match (finish as well as pins popped right in) on my Anderson lower. OH

My biggest motivation was the price on a "set" vs each.

They were.... a "deal".
