Expect anything and everything.  Under the right condition.  So bring everything, including the kitchen sink. Your boy will have fun, even without a boat.

I once tried getting back into Sebonac inlet (which is about 30’ wide on the peconic bay) in a hobie outback side during a strong outgoing and couldn’t do it.  I ended up beaching the kayak and dragging it to the other side.  That was when I was in peak shape, biking almost 30 miles per day five days per week. I wouldn’t even think about shinnecock

Thank you all for your help!

had an epic week at Shinnecock Bay!

stayed at a house on the water for easy quick launches to the bay.  Kids had a ton of fun catching fish!

My youngest with his first ever fluke…

Looks like a great trip. Glad no one went thru the inlet on a kayak.

Did once see a guy paddle a surf board across. And have seen divers / spearos launch from shore and boats in the inlet. Also saw a quite large shark drifting through once.

A lot of crazy / silly stuff.

For the most of the stay, the weekday boaters were very polite… purposely slowing down around us and of course, a wave of appreciation from us…

then there were some weekenders… and lol… they seemed to be in a rush… putting it nicely…

but family and kids had a great time!

thanks y’all
