Ouch. I would have been disappointed to book a trip to the shoals and not fish the shoals

Ya, that's so stupid. The right thing to do is gave people discounted vouchers for future trips (which I've seen other boat do).

I was offered a 1 day Nantucket trip instead of the 2 day, but I elected to get my refund. I am glad I did.

How long is the boat ride to get there? It seems like an awful long ways to go to catch fluke even if they maybe a bit larger than those closer to the mainland.

62 miles out of Falmouth, not sure about hyannis

You should be happy. I just heard from a guy who fished Bad Influence two days ago and all they got was 7 4#er. The guys is retired and fishes ALOT so it wasn’t him. Apparently the shoals bite is off.

It was a fairly short run this year. May 31st they weren’t in yet by June 20 something the bite kinda died

I was fortunate enough to get in on 1 good trip out of the 3 I went on. Just under 44lbs on a 5 fish limit. My Smallest fish was 7lbs biggest was my new pb at 12+ & 31”

I hear the HH is fishing the shoals in the last few days and doing well.

I hope it continues.  I'm heading out soon.

I was out on the shoals Sat and did well. Nothing huge, but lots of good 20-23" fish with a few 25-26". There are good sea bass mixed in, but also some dogs. Don't bother fishing shallow, stay in 85'+ and move if you get covered up in dogfish.

I was also out there last Saturday on a private vessel 5 man crew. We limited out on seabass with some really nice jumbos in the mix. We came just shy of the fluke limit for the crew. Largest fluke was 7lbs. We fished mostly in 60-70 feet of water. Lots of dogfish around stay with Gulp and you will get less bite. We got into some gator bluefish as well in the rips. No double digits fluke but that seems to be the norm these days.

Me and some buddies(11 People total) booked the Monomoy with HH on 7/29. Personally this was my first trip on the HH but these guys have been doing it every year for the past 6 years... With that said the organizer of the trip was adamant that we target Doormats and then fill the end of the day with keeper size. After some persuasion from the Captain we started in 65'-75" of water and we had all caught out limit of Keeper size fish from 20-26" by 11:00 (only keeping 3 a piece to leave room for bigger fish). We then proceed to search around for bigger class fish to no real avail but all caught our remaining 2 fish for our limits... Biggest fish of the day was 6.9 lbs. We did get into the Sea Bass off an on but on a couple keeper size fish most of them being small. Dogs weren't too bad but made their presence known. Also brought a nice 8 lb. Bluefish to the deck...

Great reports.  That all sounds sweet (but for the dogs).  I'd love a big fat bluefish to top it off.

Oops, the last photo is my Alaska halibut.  6313c824b00b8_NantucketFish4.jpeg.3e5c91e0aff622854e2934ec260d0b9c.jpeg6313c81f4f3fc_NantucketFish2.jpeg.ed72e56f28fea89296062dd7576246d9.jpeg6313c822501c8_NantucketFish3.jpeg.266b7b4d97e6e2d21458e6a500b58fc0.jpeg6313c914cf6fa_NantucketFish1.jpeg.5683dd72eead3aa2809dd9c70162afd7.jpeg6313c829678e1_AlaskaFish.jpeg.8a6bb5a5273167e0d35476a94f529744.jpeg
