Ukraine?

I do not know. It was near very populated touristic place, but no one reported any missiles. In addition, the Crimea has strong  air defense. So, I have doubt about missile attack.

If Ukranians were involved, then more likely it was some kind of sabotage

Interesting. The Ukrainians are suggesting  special forces or a homegrown missile system. If sabotage, that raises other questions. I understand that Ukrainian statements are propaganda by nature.

Damage reports are also in dispute. With Russia claiming one dead and no damage while Ukraine is sharing video of a damaged aircraft and claims to have destroyed many. Those were some big booms.

There is frenzied speculation about how this was accomplished and you may end up being right.

You see the warning that Tim got about people posting things that went against the Ukraine narrative?

If there is a war in Ukraine why would Russians go there for vacation?

You have to consider the news available to the average Russian.

Crimea is part of Russia. The special operation is accomplishing its goals. Visiting Crimea is an act of patriotism. And good deals! And no Western shaming!

Are you denying that a war is occurring in Ukraine?

Russian messaging has kind of moved past the special operation to denazify stuff.

State TV is openly talking about regime change and how to carve up the country and how to erase the very concept of a sovereign Ukraine.

Did the goals change because the Ukrainians resisted or was imperial expansion and Russification the goal all along?

So word hasn't gotten out via person-to-person in Russia that there is a war in Ukraine, so Russians are going to Ukraine for vacation?

Are you saying the video of the panicked Russian tourists on the beach in Crimea with the fiery explosions in the background is a fake?

Word will certainly now spread that Crimea is not safe.

But the deals are even more amazing and much less traffic on the way in.

I know, right?

You seemed to be saying there’s not a war in Ukraine because Russian tourists wouldn’t risk vacationing in a war zone. I probably misunderstood.

I doubt many Russian tourists are visiting Mariupol to pick through the blooming rubble, savor the smell of summer corpses, and drink fresh rain water from pothole puddles.

Your comedian star pretending that he is president claim opposite , that Crimea belong to Ukraine ?

I don't know what drugs this fool is taking , but I'm asking you if you're ready to support him until the end, until he takes back Crimea  ? And what is the price for that if by some miracle he succeeds in regaining Crimea ?

A drugged up fool speaks and the west listens to him ??? God know what is behind all this **** !! I hope that one day we will find out the truth .

Ukraine will keep fighting against Russia until it regains control of the Crimean Peninsula, President Vladimir Zelensky has promised.

“This Russian war against Ukraine began with Crimea and it should end with Crimea – with its liberation,” Zelensky said in a video address on Tuesday.

“Crimea is Ukrainian, and we’ll never give up on it,” the president vowed, insisting that the peninsula, which overwhelmingly voted to reunite with Russia in a 2014 referendum in response to a coup in Kiev, has been “occupied” by Moscow all those years.

There will be no peace in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean regions “as long as Russia is able to use our peninsula as a military base,” he claimed.

Russia should honor the Budapest Memorandum it signed in 1997.

I read an article about the history of Crimea. The local population keeps picking the wrong side and getting punished. Maybe there’s a curse on the land.

Yes they should honor the Budapest .........................Like US should honor promise that NATO would not expand any more , 5 Country + from that promise ?  Like Ukraine should honor Minsk agreement ? Do you know what Poroshenko  said ? That they signed that agreement just to buy time? Well, they bought it...................... May God help honest Ukrainians !

America has given the most overall— by far. We have pledged 26 billion dollars worth of aid but have delivered far less. Estonia the most as a % of GDP.

Yup. Lots of spring cleaning but some good stuff mixed in.

So Canada, The US, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Greece, England, the Nordic and Baltic countries, and most of Eastern Europe (incl Northern Macedonia) are backing Ukraine.

North Korea, Syria, and Iran are backing Russia.

China is watching very closely and stocking up on discounted Russian oil.

What is your opinion on India's resistance to supporting Ukraine? And Brazil too, for that matter. The Biden administration seemed to be shocked at India's refusal to participate.

This is another  question that will be avoided. It's also curious that the worlds political and celebrity elite seem to have carte blanch to wander in and out of Ukraine at will, with little regard for their safety. It would seem to indicate that it is not all what it seems over there. But I guess we're supposed to ignore that detail.

Keltan and Eryv.

Are you guys sure that President Putin isn’t a double agent working for the west?

In 4 short months he has…

…turned Zelensky into a statesman and a hero.

….turned conflicted Ukrainians firmly against Russia.

…squandered the reputation of Russian conventional forces.

…degraded and destroyed his best equipment and forces.

…sparked a worldwide interest in Ukrainian culture.

…increased the reputation of Ukraine while diminishing that of Russia.

…damaged the Russian economy.

…destroyed the parts of Ukraine most sympathetic to Russia.

…exposed poor leadership and logistics.

…exposed how Russian military technologies are dependent on imported parts.

…drove out of Russia a wave of talented younger Russians.

…left Russia diminished and isolated and unable to cause further problems with its conventional forces.

…diminished the reputation of Russian cyber warfare.

This reads like a wish list of western intelligence agencies.

I’m not sure the world is safer. A weakened bully can be more dangerous than a confident bully.
